Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I’m suffering from the “common” cold. Something as common shouldn’t be this painful. Or annoying. But come to think of it, most common things are annoying. Like papercuts. Hate those suckers!
Anyway here is what my week looked like. Hope your weekend is not as “common” as mine… Have a good one!

For the past twelve days I’ve been chronicling my life via Instagram. It’s so much fun! I stumbled upon this post and decided I had to follow the January Photo Challenge!
I’ve always tried to keep a photo diary, but would usually end up uninspired and stop. This time, however, I’m really going to try to stick to it! I’ve even set up an alarm so I don’t forget. (No, I’m not psycho, just organized.) My goal is to continue snapping photos for the rest of the year!
If you want to join the fun, all you have to do is take a photo a day with your phone (see below for the schedule). Share via Instagram or Twitter and hashtag your photos #janphotoaday. Photo365 is a great app to keep your photos organized. (Please let me know of any other app suggestions.) If you start or have started the challenge already, tell me your username for Instagram/Twitter – I’d love to take a look at your photos!
You can find me on Instagram & Twitter. I’ll highlight my weekly photos on Fridays, here on the blog. I hope you join!
Have a great weekend!

Très chic le noir et blanc!
(Translation: “Black & white is so chic!” – I like to pretend I’m French…)
More often than not, I end up wearing an all-black outfit and simply throw on a pearl necklace or two. It doesn’t get any classier than that! I mean, HELLO! Can you say CHANEL? OK, so this outfit doesn’t come close to anything Karl Lagerfeld has designed, but it’s still kind of cool…
I was so into the whole black & white look that I ended up wearing this outfit the next day and posted it on Instagram.

Don’t you just love Instagram? I’m addicted! By the way… Are you following me yet?
I love black & white together. All of my favorites come in black & white: polka dots (obsessed!), stripes, houndstooth, checkered, snow leopard, zebra, etc., etc, the list goes on and on! However, I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of (gasp) black & white movies. Honestly, I haven’t given them a fair chance. Dreamboat has been trying to get me to watch The Artist but I haven’t been willing to sit through it. Has anyone watched it? I’m afraid I’ll hate it. And fall sleep. But I promise to give it a try. (Boo.)

This is my Rockstar pose.
I know what you’re thinking, “Rockstars don’t wear polka dots!” But had I any actual talent to be a rockstar, I would have definitely made it “rock ‘n’ roll” to wear polka dots. Then again, if I were a real rockstar, I’d probably be too cool for them… So I’m kind of glad I don’t have it in me to be a rockstar, because then I wouldn’t be able to rock the heck out of this cardigan. Yeah, I’m happy to give up my hypothetical life as a rockstar for polka dots. What can I say? I LOVE polka dots.
#EndRant
Twitter’s got me hash tagging #every #single #word. By the way, are you following me on Twitter? I usually share pictures but occasionally throw in a random thought.
So anyway, I knew from the moment I got this cardigan that I’d have to dress it down. Sequins can be tricky to wear, especially in the day time. But they’re so much fun! I seriously need to incorporate sequins into my daily wardrobe. They make me feel utterly girly and glam.
When was the last time you wore sequins?
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Missed Me?
In my defense… it was really windy that day, hence the frazzled hair. No, seriously, it’s been a little crazy for me these past few months. I’ve been taking time to adjust to some changes in my personal life. I’ll probably still have a hard time posting as frequently as I used to. My goal is to continue posting & hopefully the next time I do, won’t be next year.
But enough about me!
Let’s talk about the outfit! This is what I wore to my little brother’s wedding back in October. I had a different dress in mind for his wedding but two weeks before it, I realized it wasn’t going to work. So I had to scramble to find another dress. Fortunately, I found this one. I fell in love with it from the moment I laid eyes on it. I knew it was the one but I still went ahead & tried on about 10 different dresses. It’s 60s vintage. It kind of reminded me of my grandma’s curtains, but still thought it was totally rad (in a 60s kinda way). The brocade pattern looks like little heart balloons… I had another outfit dilemma – I didn’t own any dressy black shoes. So, again, I had to run around to find the perfect pair. These were far from perfect. I almost didn’t get them because I refused to wear anything named “Miss Universe”, but they were only $20 so I got over it. Quick. Thankfully, they were comfortable all day.
It was a long but beautiful day. My sister-in-law looked gorgeous & my brother was the dashing groom I always pictured him to be. Everything went according to plan. They wed. We cried. They kissed. We danced. It’s a day I will treasure for the rest of my life.
I also learned a valuable lesson: Waterproof Mascara. Invest in it. Use it. You’ll thank me later.
I can’t believe today is the first day of 2012! Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Until we meet again... Ciao!
